![]() Well, I drove through Topeka once and didnt particularly enjoy it. GameDay College Do we have any connection to the university or the state you may ask. In some ways it’s even more fragmented than before when your only choices were cable TV or Satellite. In light of ESPN having zero balls to do the right thing and fulfil their desire to 'go to campuses weve never visited,' my cousin and I are putting on our own GameDay in Lawrence on Saturday. Despite several opportunities in recent years, ESPN has chosen other locations instead like Times Square, Fargo, ND, and Tuscaloosa (for what feels like the 1,000th time). But… why do I have to pay for multiple that I don’t watch, why can’t I pick a la carte down to the individual channel in this day and age? Why can’t I just get something like a Viacom+ sub that is specifically the MM channels plus what’s on CBS? (What’s even more confusing is that you have CBS all Access, which is partially this, but then their back catalog of on-demand shows and movies are now on Paramount+) The original intent of waving the flag was to attract ESPN to broadcast College Gameday on the campus of WSU in Pullman. For example with Sling, Sling Orange is primarily the Viacom/Turner channels like Cartoon Network, CNN, TBS, TNT, and TruTV (which comes in handy for March Madness, mind you) along with ESPN and others. Yeah it’s weird that we live in this era of both the broadcast networks moving to streaming/on demand platforms, but also their especially sports channels being stuck in the old fashioned “you have to buy the entire channel lineup we offer at once” mindset when selling them.
